Dysfunctional Functional Government

The Unites States government lacks functionality. There is minimal bi-partisan legislature. Democrats attempted a war powers resolution today, mandating the Trump Administration stop the Iran War because it is illegal. (The President should have received congressional approval before attacking Iran.) The vote failed along party lines - surprise, surprise, surprise as Gomer Pyle would say, and at this point, I'd vote for Gomer Pyle! Wait - whether you agree or disagree on the war, you don't propose legislation to stop the war five days after you start a potentially successful effort. This is wrong, partisan, hate-filled politics, certainly not uncommon. (I'm not saying the war is right, but it's certainly not all wrong.) Thousands of similar examples of dysfunctional government have occurred over decades. Our government is dysfunctional and wasteful. We pay our legislators for being dysfunctional and promoting hatred. All parties are to blame, and as taxpayers, we suffer. And, we "think" we are better than any other country....
