Career Advice

For those still working, you may want to ask yourself the following every 3 years:

  1. Do I enjoy what I am doing?

  2. Do I like working for my company and my boss?

If you answer "No" to either of these, then do something. I was a 42-year corporate rat who only changed jobs when a head-hunter called, but I did make only one career move. I always worked for large corporations. I could have been more aggressive in managing my career. I travelled frequently, but fortunately my wife was understanding, supportive in many ways, and did an amazing job in her career as a "stay at home Mom". It is important to evaluate where you are every 3 years, so you don't get left behind, or too heads-down in living to work, instead of working to live.
