Change

The Michael Jackson song, "Man in the Mirror" simplifies personal change.

"I'm gonna make a change

For once in my life

It's gonna feel real good

Gonna make a difference, gonna make it right"

....

"I'm starting with the man in the mirror

I'm asking him to change his ways

And no message could have been any cleaner

If you wanna make the world a better place

Take a look at your self and then make a change"

The song goes on, but you get the point - look in the mirror and that's who needs to change.

Michael Jackson didn't write the song, although he certainly did justice in his rendition. Written by Siedah Garrett and Glen Ballard, the song focuses on personal accountability and self-reflection to improve the world, rather than blame external factors.

If you've ever attended a 12-Step meeting, you may have heard someone say when you point your finger at someone in blame, there are three fingers pointing back at yourself. Similar to looking in the mirror....

Change.
